Eminem
Overview
Eminem is your average rapper. His first album, the Slim Shady LP, remained on the billboard charts for months, despite the fact that its main themes were the rape and abuse of women and magic mushrooms.
Rap Sheet
1. Fantasized in song ("Kill You") about raping his mother. In another song ("Cleaning Out My Closet") he called her a "bitch" and stated he "hopes [she] burn[s] in hell".
2. Could never keep a lasting relationship with any woman. Made at least three songs in which he fantasized about killing his now ex-wife Kim ("'97 Bonnie and Clyde", "Kim", "What's the Difference?"). In "'97 Bonnie and Clyde" Mr. Mathers rapped about disposing of his wife's body while his young daughter watched.
3. Arrested on posession of a concealed weapon in 2001 for which he received two years probation and a monetary fine.
4. Violent and mysogonistic lyrics incited Deborah Lynne Cheny, wife of U.S. President Dick Cheny, to start a campaign against Eminem.
5. Incited mass protests in concert venues across the world.
6. Has stated in interviews that he does "promote violence".
7. He is the lead man of D12, a group whose song content rivals that of NWA and Eminem's own solo CDs.
8. Eminem insults a famous (usually black) performer in every first single. Ex. Lauryn Hill, Will Smith, Michael Jackson, Moby, Justin Timberlake, Cage, Christina Aguilera.
9.Eminem follows the same pattern with each CD. The first single (My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Without Me, Just Lose It) is poppy and radio-friendly. The second single is loud and designed to shock (Guilty Conscience, Way I Am, Cleaning Out My Closet, Mosh). There is the obligatory track expressing his hate for his wife Kim ('97 Bonnie and Clyde, Kim, Puke, Love You More), an ode to his daughter (Hailie's Song, Mockingbird) and the insults directed at his mom.
10. Even Eminem fans agree that his last album, Encore, was not very good.
